「be of」

ofの後ろには、性質・状態を表す抽象名詞を置くと形容詞とおなじ働きなる

「A is of B」で、AはBの性質を持つ（Bに属しているA）

be of use = useful

be of value = valuable

be of importance = important

be of interest = interesting

be of no avail（役に立たない）

be of no value（価値がない）

be of benefit（有効である、利益になる）

No treatment can be of any avail.（どんな治療も役に立たない。）

Small differences are of no importance.（小さな違いは重要じゃない。）

I am glad to be of service.（お役にたてて光栄です。）

I am happy to be of help.（お役にたててうれしいです。）

A dictionary can be of great use when writing.（辞書はライティングのときに役立ちます。）
