§70  関係副詞

説明される名詞と同じ名詞が前置詞の目的語になっていて、その前置詞＋名詞が「時間、場所、方法、理由のどれかを表す副詞句」として働くている場合

前置詞＋名詞をwhen, where, how, why, thatという一語で置き換え、それを先頭に移動させる

He was born in the village. → the village where he was born 前置詞 in は省かれる

He was born on the day. → the day when he was born 前置詞 on は省かれる

You cannot consent for the reason. → Tell me the reason why you cannot consent. 

✖️That is the way how he accomplished it. 

先行詞 the way と 関係副詞 how はどちらかを省略しないといけない

That is the way he accomplished it. 

That is how he accomplished it.
